This is my first DIY frame. these are the steps to make a cool modern black and gold frame for really cheap. Hope you like.
STEP 1:
You will need:
1 frame (any size)
gold leaf (any craft store)
1 glue stick
1 roll of painters tape
1 paint brush

| get all your materials ready. |
STEP 2:
Tape around the edges that you want to keep black.
Make sure not to go over the corner.
STEP 3:
Take your glue and on the black part you did not cover with tape put a lot of glue.
Be heavy handed with the glue.
**Also only glue one side at a time.**
STEP 4:
After you glue one side take your gold leaf and paint brush and start taking the the gold and "paint" it on the glued portion of the frame.
**Make sure to put a lot of the gold leaf on the press it down so there will not be any black spots.**
STEP 5:
After you are finished putting the gold on all sides take it outside and brush all of the extra off. there might be some black spots but you can always go back over with a glue stick and do small spots again.
STEP 6:
After it drys start pealing off the tape.
And there you have it, its finished if you would like you could also go and get some shellac to make sure nothing starts to fall off.
